Interview Claudia Lederer | Riding Zone n°2
I had the honor of being featured in the pages of the second edition of Riding Zone Magazine — a 128-page issue released on September 7, 2021 — following an interview conducted by Lucy Paltz.
“Each of her photographs, each of her films, conveys an emotion, going beyond action, beyond sport. Perhaps because Claudia Lederer is first and foremost passionate about people before being passionate about images. ‘My primary goal is above all to reveal what moves me in the person standing in front of the lens.’”

“It is now her turn to highlight outsiders: Claudia shows a genuine interest in athletes who are still relatively unknown, finding great pleasure in bringing them into the light and revealing, through her work, the extent of their potential. Completely devoted to her art, the photographer gives herself without reservation, going as far as self-initiating projects that are close to her heart. With a feminist approach, she particularly enjoys collaborating with female surfers and skateboarders. Giving media visibility to women athletes is a form of activism — this is how I contribute in my own way. Some are taking it to the streets; in my case, my voice is expressed through my work. I want to show what women are capable of, the breadth of talent and commitment of these women who truly inspire me. It is not about excluding men from my work, but simply about restoring balance to the way information is usually presented.’”
