I followed surfer Lee-Ann Curren for nearly a month across Iceland in search of waves. With the support of the Arctic Surfers community, we traveled through fjords and along remote coastlines where farming still shapes the land and nature remains largely untouched.
There were no crowded breaks, no surf reports, no webcams — only maps, changing weather patterns, and the intuition to read the shoreline and drive wherever the wind might open a window.

Fewer waves, perhaps, but a far richer journey in the patient construction of those rare, fleeting moments: the magic of riding a wave in a place that feels almost undiscovered.
A selection of photographs from this expedition was later published in an issue of SurfGirl.
