« La Rencontre » documents the exhumation of artist Virginie Rebetez’s grandparents in the Swiss Jura. When their burial plot lease was not renewed, she decided to get involved and transform this process into a deeply personal work of art, witnessing and documenting the exhumation alongside family members who gathered for the occasion.

I had the privilege of working as an editor on two films—*RENÉ* and *SIMONE*—created for the exhibition « Ajouter un tiret » at Photoforum Pasquart, Bienne, Switzerland.
I deeply admired Virginie Rebetez’s work before working on this project, particularly her ability to bridge the gap between the living and the dead, and her exploration of worlds from which we often remain apart. This project immersed me in a space I never could have imagined—an environment that was nonetheless poetic and profound, connecting us to the experience of death as an integral part of life.

Suite au non-renouvellement de leur concession funéraire – elle décide de s’impliquer et de transformer cette étape en une œuvre profondément personnelle, en assistant et documentant l’exhumation, accompagnée de sa famille réunie pour l’occasion.

J’ai eu la chance de travailler comme monteuse sur deux films, RENÉ et SIMONE, réalisés pour l’exposition « Ajouter un tiret » au Photoforum Pasquart, Bienne, Suisse.
